20世纪福克斯公司1960年电影《Flaming Star (手足英雄)》描述美国内战後由於文化差异，外来移民者与土着居民有着激烈的冲突，并逐步酝酿争斗的故事。猫王Elvis Presley (埃尔维斯·普雷斯利) 在片中出演混血儿，展现了精湛演技，被影评家认爲是他最好的演出之一。
猫王演唱的《Summer Kisses Winter Tears》原本是这部影片的歌曲之一，由於与情节不搭，这首歌遗憾的被撤下。影片上映两个月後，RCA公司决定发行这首歌，终获肯定。它的中文版《多少柔情多少泪》也受到了衆多华语歌星的青睐。
